The Auxiliary
Family members of veterans, standing alongside Post 5079 to serve our veterans, their families, and the Bridgeport community.
No Veteran Stands Alone
The VFW Auxiliary has stood beside the Veterans of Foreign Wars since 1914. Here in Bridgeport, our Auxiliary carries that mission forward with Post 5079, giving our time, our hands, and our hearts so that the veterans in our neighborhood, and the families who love them, always have a place to come home to.
Family Behind the Flag
Our members are the spouses, parents, children, grandchildren, and siblings of veterans who served overseas. Some of us joined in honor of a veteran still with us; others carry on the memory of one we've lost.
Together, we help keep Post 5079 strong, just as the Auxiliary has done throughout the Post's nearly 80 years in Bridgeport.
Bringing Bridgeport Together
Working alongside Rangers S.A.C., our Auxiliary helps host the Post's Halloween and Christmas parties for members' children and local youth, along with the gatherings, fundraisers, and observances that make Post 5079 feel like home.
